“I have never ever written anything in the bath before. Paper gets damp and steamy, pens won’t write upside down, typewriters hurt your tummy, and if you are prepared to use a PowerBook in the bath, then I assume that it isn’t your own PowerBook.” Douglas Adams, “The Little Computer that Could (collected in The Salmon of Doubt)

This is too cute! And I need to get in on this writer’s weekend action. That’s such a great idea.

Not to sound spiteful, but it’s always nice to see other places getting snow. I feel guilty for my area taking it all most of these winters. It’s a good thing no one can see how I’m not holding a straight face through that.

I totally got iced in my the same storm in Oklahoma. Got trapped in a motel room with my laptop for like four days. Got a lot done. So i guess that was my writers weekend… without the cabin, or hottub

Sounds you had a fab time!

Agatha Christie used to write in a bath tub, if I remember it correctly. She had a wooden removable ’shelf’ to put her typewriter on (again, if I remember it correctly). I didn’t dare to bring our old typewriter in, and ditto for paper or laptops as above.

Do they make waterproof laptops or Alphas or such yet?
(I think sailors use a special silver-tipped pencil and – hmm, what?)

Oh how I relate to getting new ideas for new stories instead of working on old ones! :)
